Privacy and data
osir.co.uk is free to use and has no adverts, accounts or third-party trackers. This page explains exactly what the site records and why.
What we record when you visit
To keep the tools running, measure which tools are used, and protect the service from abuse, each page view records:
- your IP address, the page visited, the referring page and the time;
- your browser's user-agent string (browser, operating system and device type);
- a device fingerprint: technical characteristics your browser reports, such as screen size, time zone, language, graphics hardware and rendering differences. It's combined into an ID used to recognise repeat visits and spot automated or abusive traffic;
- how long the page was open.
We use this data under our legitimate interests in running a secure, reliable service. It's stored on our own server, never sold or shared, and deleted after 90 days. Security logs about blocked or suspicious requests are kept for 180 days.
Cookies and local storage
The site doesn't use advertising or analytics cookies. The Secure Shared Clipboard sets one strictly necessary cookie that remembers you passed the anti-bot check, for up to 12 hours. Your browser's local storage remembers your light or dark theme choice and the IDs of clipboards you recently opened. Neither is sent anywhere.

- Whatever you add is encrypted on our server with a key derived from your clipboard ID. Only someone with the link can read it.
- Everything is permanently deleted 48 hours after the clipboard is created, or immediately when you press Wipe now.
- We record that a clipboard was created or used, along with sizes and file types, but we can't see its contents.
- Anyone you give the link to can view, add to and wipe the clipboard.
- For security, the clipboard page lists every device that has opened it: IP address, browser type and connection times. Everyone with the link can see this list. It's deleted along with the clipboard.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask what data we hold about you, or ask us to delete it. Because the data is tied to IP addresses and devices rather than names, include your IP address and the date of your visit. Contact us through any of our partners: itproexpert.com, ravtic.com, shellysoft.com.
