Bitcoin Paper Wallet Generator

Create a Bitcoin address and private key on your own device and print them as a paper wallet. Nothing is sent anywhere: this page is blocked from making any network connection.

Before you start

Checking your connection…
  1. Use a computer you trust, free of malware, ideally in a private or incognito window with no extensions.
  2. Once this page has loaded, disconnect from the internet. Everything keeps working offline.
  3. Print on a printer connected by USB, not a shared or cloud printer, and don't save the PDF.
  4. Close the tab and reconnect once your wallet is printed.

Check a private key

Type in a private key (WIF, starting with K, L or 5) to see which addresses it controls, for example to check a paper wallet before sending it funds. This is also done entirely on your device.

How to use a paper wallet

  1. Receive: send bitcoin to the public address. Anyone can see it, so it's safe to share.
  2. Store: keep the paper dry, out of sight, and ideally make a second copy kept somewhere else.
  3. Spend: import or "sweep" the private key into a wallet app such as Electrum, Sparrow or BlueWallet, and move the whole balance at once. Afterwards, treat the paper wallet as used and don't send it more funds.

Is it safe?

  • Keys come from your browser's cryptographic random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues) and our own Bitcoin code, written without third-party libraries. It's checked against the official test vectors.
  • The page's security policy blocks all network connections, and it loads no analytics or tracking scripts.
  • Anyone who sees or photographs the private key can take the bitcoin. For larger amounts, a hardware wallet is safer than paper.
  • This tool comes with no warranty. Test with a small amount first.
