AGI countdown

estimated · ARC-AGI-3 benchmark

A live view of what is happening in the world right now. It watches many independent feeds and only raises an event when several of them agree, then rates how serious it is. Early, single-source reports are labelled "unconfirmed" — this is an informational aggregator, not an official source.

How it works

No single feed can tell a major disaster from a passing rumour. Real events make several independent sources react at once — an official alert, a news cluster, a search spike, a new encyclopaedia article. This tool collects those signals, groups the ones that line up in time, place and wording into a single event, and rates it.

The ratings

  • Critical: mass-casualty events, major earthquakes or tsunamis, war escalation, coups.
  • Significant: large disasters, major outages, big political or economic shocks.
  • Notable: major space, science or world-figure events.
  • Unconfirmed: only one source so far — treat with caution.

Where the data comes from

USGS (earthquakes), GDACS (UN/EU disaster alerts), NASA EONET (wildfires, storms, volcanoes), NOAA (space weather), BBC, Sky News, The Guardian, CNN, NYT, NPR and Al Jazeera (news), plus Google Trends and Bluesky. Map tiles © OpenStreetMap contributors and © Esri. Feeds can be delayed or incomplete, and automatic ratings can be wrong — always check the original source before acting.
