How to read this
Test positivity is the share of lab tests that come back positive for each virus — an early signal of how much is circulating. A&E respiratory attendances and NHS 111 respiratory calls (syndromic surveillance) are a near-real-time read on how much illness is reaching urgent care, and COVID-19 hospital beds show in-patient load. Rising numbers are shown in amber/red, falling in green.
This is an indicative picture of respiratory illness in England, not an official risk assessment or medical advice. Figures are for England (the UKHSA dashboard's national data); Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland publish separately. Every indicator here is within a few weeks of today.
Live per-hospital A&E status
There is, unfortunately, no national open feed of real-time A&E department waiting times or how busy each hospital is — NHS England publishes A&E performance only monthly, by trust, several weeks behind. The syndromic A&E attendance figures above are the closest live national signal. If a per-trust monthly map would be useful, it can be added.
